Basics of bad breath problems
The Fresh Breath
Clinic® is a unique facility totally devoted to the treatment
of oral malodor (also called bad breath or halitosis) and its related
problems. If you have chronic bad breath and are serious about wanting
to eliminate the problem, there are many time-tested treatments
have been developed over many years of careful research and study
and best of all -- they really work. Chronic bad breath and bad
taste problems are most often caused by the overpopulation of certain
types of bacteria naturally present in the mouth. These bacteria
are found specifically on the base of the tongue, the rough surface
of the tongue and in between the teeth.
The bacteria
feed on the protein in saliva and tissues producing large amounts
of volatile sulfur compounds (VSC's). It is generally these sulfur
compounds that mix with mouth air to form bad breath. Just to complicate
matters, the following conditions may also contribute to bad breath
problems. Swollen or bleeding gums, loosening and shifting teeth,
tender gums, sensitive teeth, pain when you chew, these are the
common disease that create bad breathe. Ulcers in the mouth, tonsillitis,
secretion of the mucous membrane of the nose, not enough stomach
acid or constipation are also cause problems. Certain
medications, alcohol consumption, and breathing through the nose
during exercise also dry the mouth contributing to the problem.
Saliva flow increases when we eat or drink. If you are dieting,
fasting, or talking for long periods drink water to stimulate saliva
flow and moisten your mouth.
The water will
also wash away food and bacteria that contribute to bad breath.
Make sure that your mouth does not become too dry by drinking water
and maintaining saliva flow, and still have bad breath. You may
want to see your dentist. This is because anaerobic bacteria in
your mouth may have found special hiding places. Maintaining good
oral health is essential to reducing bad breath. For ulcers in the
mouth gargling with warm Bedstraw tea is recommended, and for tonsillitis,
with Sage tea. For secretion of the mucous membrane of the nose,
Sage tea is sniffed up the nose. Oral anaerobic bacteria create
problems like Oral disease, sinus, tonsil, fermentation food particles
in the mouth all these contribute to mouth odor. Many non-oral diseases,
such as lung infections, kidney failure, liver disease are also
the caused by bad breathe problems.
