Useful Home Remedy Bronchitis
An inflammation
of the lining of the bronchial tubes, the airways that connect the
trachea to the lungs is termed as Bronchitis. The bronchitis patient
always found difficult for air to pass in and out of the lungs than
usually. Frequent coughing is the general symptom of bronchitis.
The home remedies can be used to control the bronchitis in early
stages. Onion has been used extensively for bronchitis remedy. The
juice made out of onion may be consumed daily in the morning in
the empty stomach. The onion liquefies phlegm and prevents its formation.
Another expectorant available as a home remedy is chicory or endive.
This is also an effective home remedy for bronchitis. The powder
is extracted from the dry root of this herb and half a teaspoon
is mixed with one teaspoon of honey. This mixture should be given
to the patients thrice daily. The patients should fast on orange
juice until the symptoms of acute bronchitis fall down.
Sesame seeds
are another effective home remedy for bronchitis. The dry seeds
of sesame is pounded into powder and mixed with two tablespoons
of water and should be given twice daily. For better results of
bronchitis, one teaspoon of sesame seeds, mixed with a teaspoon
of linseed, a pinch of common salt, and a teaspoon of honey, can
be provided at night. The decoction made out of sesame seeds can
also taken twice daily by the bronchitis patients. A bath is prepared
by mixing 1.5 kg of Epsom salt in sixty liters of water of 37.8
degrees Celsius. The patient should get immersed himself in the
bath for about twenty minutes daily at night. This is found to be
valuable during the acute stages of bronchitis. Hot towels wrapped
around the upper chest are more useful in both acute and chronic
bronchitis. A series of two to three hot towels may be wrapped in
the chest for 2-3 minutes time for each, a cold towel may also be
wrung out before finishing this operation. In acute attack of bronchitis,
a cold pack also being tried to apply in the upper chest several
times daily.
